Dr. Mehrnaz Shokrollahi
Hello, I'm Mehrnaz Shokrollahi, deeply immersed in the dynamic world of technology and AI, particularly passionate about championing women in these fields. Currently, I hold the position of Director of Data Science & Advanced Analytics at Royal Bank of Canada. My journey is a testament to the potential of women in tech and AI, driven by a commitment to innovation and inclusivity. My upbringing instilled in me a profound belief in the power of diversity and inclusion, shaping my perspective on the importance of women's representation in technology and AI. Supported by my family, I embarked on a journey fueled by curiosity and determination to break barriers and challenge norms. My academic pursuit culminated in a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University. Additionally, I actively engage in initiatives such as the IEEE Signal Processing Chapter Toronto Section and the IEEE Women in Signal Processing Industry-Academia Engagement and Education Subcommittee, striving to create opportunities for women in these fields. Sanaz Ariannejad
Sanaz Ariannejad is an experienced yoga instructor who has dedicated herself to sharing the transformative power of yoga with the world. Her journey into the world of yoga began almost 15 years ago when she was first introduced to the practice. This shift in focus sparked her curiosity and ignited her desire to delve deeper into the world of yoga. As the founder of Sanazyogaasana, an online platform that offers a variety of yoga styles, she is widely recognized for her ability to empower her students through accessible and creative instruction, often infusing her classes with humor and a genuine sense of warmth. Over the past six years, Sanaz has consistently demonstrated her commitment to helping others discover the transformative and healing benefits of yoga. Maryam Ghaderian
My name is Maryam Ghaderian, a dynamic and compassionate 51-year-old registered holistic nutritionist, married and mother of two. My transformative journey from a chemist, to a human resources professional, to a dedicated advocate for women's health is nothing short of inspiring. Originally trained as a chemical engineer, my innate desire to work with people led me into the human resources world, where I found fulfillment in fostering connections and understanding the human element of the workplace. Life took an unexpected turn when I faced early menopause symptoms and arthritis, and I was told “this is what a 40-year-old woman should expect”. Determined to overcome these challenges, I embarked on a personal quest for holistic well-being. I knew there was a way and I was committed to find it. Channeling my pain into purpose, I delved into the world of nutrition, specializing in women's hormonal health. My unique blend of scientific knowledge and personal experience has empowered hundreds of women to enjoy a life they deserve. I have dedicated myself to empowering women to overcome the challenges associated with health and age, encouraging them to embrace life without the limitations of "it's too late" or "I'm too old." Beyond my professional pursuits, my hobbies reflect my never-ending curiosity and desire to learn. My love for nature and traveling allows me to immerse myself in different cultures, while the passion I have for books and documentaries serves as a continuous source of learning from diverse experiences. My goal for the future is clear—to empower others to take control of their lives, guiding them toward a meaningful and healthy existence that they can design for themselves. I stand as a testament to resilience, turning adversity into an opportunity for growth, and inspiring others to do the same.
Shirin Amani Azari
Born in Tehran and raised in Sweden from age of 11 years. Moved to England 1997 with my husband. We have a 14 year old daughter, Maya and a joyful three year old dog; Cookie. Since 2000, I have been working with Victims of Torture at organisations such as Refugee Support Centre, Refugee Therapy Centre and Mapesbury Clinic in London, UK. I supervise qualified therapists' working with young people at Docklands Outreach East, in collaboration with Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services. In December 2020, I volunteered my services to Frontline 19; Doctors and Nurses in ITU and ICU suffering from PTSD during Covid times, across UK. My work as a published author has been recognised in the International Psychotherapy Journal, The Psychotherapists, Transformations PCSR journal and Therapy Today. I am also a fictionalised memoir writer. My first book 'Once Upon a Time in Tehran' was released in 2010 and raised recognition with book signings at The Zoroastrian House, Harrods and Studio 74 followed by a guest appearances on MBC with Sina Valiollah and Manoto TV. My book ‘Once upon a time in Uppsala’ has had successful launches in London in March 2023, in Stockholm June 2023 and Marakesh December 2023. It has since then been submitted for two awards. I run Monthly sessions with Iran Wire in consultation for children and young adolescents in Farsi. I enjoy cooking and enjoy sharing the space with my daughter Maya. During pandemic, we entertained ourselves being creative in kitchen and made of the series of 'Mummy’s Kitchen with Me' I am a strong believer in education and my aspiration would be to be educated and to educate at any opportunity given. I write, do public speaking, run workshops and use social platforms to raise awareness.
Gazal Amin
Meet Gazzy, a trailblazer on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. As a first-generation Iranian-Canadian, Gazzy's story is one of resilience and courage. Her parents' sacrifices paved the way for her, and she initially followed the conventional path, studying politics as they hoped. At just 21, Gazzy became the youngest woman of colour at decision-making tables while working for both the Premier of Ontario and the Prime Minister of Canada. However, by 23, she felt burnt out and unfulfilled, realising she was living a life that made her parents proud but left her unsatisfied. In a bold move in 2019, Gazzy quit her political career without a backup plan, and started the beginning of a new chapter—one she designed with intention and action. Fast forward to today, Gazzy has built her own consulting company and has supported over 100 women CEOs on starting and expanding their businesses, and living authentically by launching groundbreaking sales methodologies. Her commitment extends beyond business success; she actively supports women's empowerment through donations and initiatives. Her accolades include speaking at PWC and being featured on Lead Better with Christine, Channel 14. Gazzy holds an Honours B.A in Political Science & French from York University and is a certified Mindset Coach. Gazzy is fluent in Farsi, French, Spanish and English and has consulted clients in all 4 languages. Outside of client meetings or networking in the City, you’ll find Gazzy on her yoga mat, on the dance floor or looking for her next investment opportunity in Costa Rica.
Bahareh Ahmadkhan
My name is Bahareh, and I was born in Tehran, Iran, into a warm and affluent family with loving parents who provided a nurturing environment. Their dedication to our success instilled in me a drive for independence and a desire to shape my own destiny from a young age. At just 16 years old, following my success in a swimming competition among Tehran high schools, I made the unconventional decision to become a swimming instructor. My motivation stemmed not from financial gain, but from a genuine passion for engaging with others and fostering real-life connections. After completing high school, I pursued a Master's degree in science. During my university years, I held managerial positions at three institutes in Tehran, where I honed my leadership abilities and gained valuable experience. Ten years ago, I made the move to Canada, where I have since flourished both personally and professionally. Today, with over 15 years of experience in leadership positions, I serve as Vice President of Quality and Regulatory at a pharmaceutical company, while also taking on the role of CEO in my own consulting firm. In this capacity, I assist companies in navigating the complex process of bringing pharmaceutical and medical device products to market, finding immense fulfillment in this meaningful work. Outside of my professional endeavors, I cherish the time spent with my 3.5-year-old son and our beloved 12-year-old dog, whom we've had since she was just 2 months old. I also enjoy playing the guitar and prioritize creating joyful experiences for my son. Additionally, I am passionate about travel, as it allows me to explore the diverse ways in which people's lives are shaped by their surroundings.

Caroline Raffi is a VP of enterprise for a global university group, Ducere. She has over two decades of experience in business development and marketing, specialized in activating, and successfully launching strategic business plans. Caroline was a founder of her own manufacturing and consulting company for 8 years. She has worked with a number of start-ups to strategically expand their market and achieve sustainable growth. In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Caroline has held significant roles in some of the world’s largest corporations, including Wells Fargo Bank and Prudential California Realty. Caroline holds her MBA from University of California Irvine, Paul Merage school of business. Caroline is a first-generation immigrant from Iran. She has been passionate in supporting and helping professional women and minorities reaching their career goals and dreams. In March 2024 she was recognized by Los Angeles Business Journal for her work related to diversity and inclusion, addressing issues related to closing the gender gap in business and education.
